Zdzisław Stolarczyk

Trombonist and chamber ensemble musician. Started playing the trombone in Karol Szymanowski Comprehensive Public Music School in Katowice. In 1981 graduated from Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice in the class of Professor R. Siwek.

Since 1979 he has been a bass trombonist in Polish Radio National Symphonic Orchestra collaborating at the same time with many ensembles in Poland and abroad (National Philharmonic Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Nederlandse Omroep Stichting Radio Chamber Orchestra from Hilversum, International Symphonic Orchestra in Aberdeen, Warsaw Trombone Quartet, trombone Quartet of the Polish Radio National Symphonic Orchestra).

He performed at famous concert halls with such eminent artists as C. Abbado, L. Bernstein, E. Bour, L. Mazeel, K. Mazur, P. Domingo, M. Vengerov, K. Penderecki, M. Roztropowicz, J. Semkow.

In 1986 he took up pedagogical job in the I and II grade Public Comprehensive School of Music in Bielsko Biała where he has been teaching trombone and ensemble classes. Since 1998 he has been working at the Academy of Music in Cracow teaching trombone, orchestra studies and ensembles. For his didactic achievements he received many awards and distinctions. He is a consultant of the Artistic Education Centre in Warsaw and an expert of the Minister of National Education in teachers’ promotions.

Since 2005 he has been the Chairman of the Polish Trombonists and Tubists Association and a member of the International Trombone Association.
